Following a free trial, I joined Hybrid Fitness 1 month ago - gym phobic and very unfit, never having done a strength training session in my life! Amazingly, I’m still here, reaping the benefits of belonging to such an amazing club and actually looking forward to each session! Chris (owner) is a fab instructor who has the ability to cater for every individuals needs (even in a group session)and is very supportive. Haha…..he is also very persistent in his goal of ensuring I receive value for my money ! His members are fab too - often keeping me entertained !

I’m updating my review of Hybrid Fitness that I wrote 10 months ago. I’ve been going to this gym since then and my partner (also completely new to exercise) has been joining me too! Hybrid has made us finally enjoy exercise and the classes are very accessible! Everyone at this gym, trainer or gym-goer, has been lovely and welcoming and the sense of community in classes is encouraging and makes exercise fun. You can really tell Chris is passionate about his job and all the trainers are too! I would recommend this gym to absolutely anyone and joining was a great decision that turned my life around.
I have never been able to stick with an exercise routine before finding Hybrid Fitness. This place has given me the motivation to achieve my fitness goals whilst improving my mental health, it’s my happy place and I look forward to every session I attend. I’ve been going to Hybrid Fitness for two years now and can honestly say it’s the best gym I’ve trained at in Southampton. The mix of classes and personal-training-style coaching is brilliant, and the level of expertise here is far beyond anything I’ve seen in the half-dozen gyms I’ve used before.
Hybrid Gym is a refreshing change from the usual gym, it offers a non-pretentious space where everyday people achieve extraordinary results. The supportive atmosphere, after crushing my personal bests in strength classes, creates a sense of female empowerment, unmatched by any other class or workout I used to do. I love the high-energy rush after a HIIT session and the personalised attention from trainers. Every workout is tailored to help me reach my potential. The sense of community here is amazing, with everyone cheering each other on. Without a doubt, the best thing to happen to West End!
I was hesitant about attending the classes at first due to the little effort I've put into my overall fitness in recent years, however, I am so glad I gave it a go. Chris, the owner and instructor, has been incredible in providing motivation and support in all his sessions. He ensures that everyone in the class feels welcome and challenged, whilst tailoring the experience to your personal ability. I recommend you give Hybrid Fitness a go!
I’ve been going to sessions at Hybrid for just over a month now and I absolutely love it. I am far from the fittest person you’ll ever meet, and you won’t see me run unless I’m being chased. Despite this, Chris manages to offer realistic options for each exercise. Everything is demo’d before you start so you know exactly what you’re doing, and Chris is always more than happy to help out if something slips your mind halfway through. This allows me to get a meaningful workout whilst building my confidence and technique. You are pushed to do your best every session, but it’s done in a really supportive way. The sense of community in the gym is great, and while there are some members who seem to be superhuman with the things they achieve, there are no ego’s. You can feel everyone’s rooting for one another. I would recommend this gym to anyone, regardless of ability. On top of all that, it’s so nice to have a small business, being run by someone local. Chris is passionate about offering a great quality service, as well as being invested personally in the area. 10/10, thank you Hybrid.
A gym experience like nothing I've had before! Atmosphere is so friendly and fun, Chris and the other trainers channel their expertise in a way that makes working out feel dynamic, specialised, comfortable and fun. I haven't been exercising and have just recovered from surgery, but Chris listens, tailors and supports your experience in the class to be right for your fitness level as well as safe too. Well worth the money, there's such a sense of community that I'm really looking forward to experiencing too!
I had a great experience at Hybrid Fitness trying out their HIIT class. Chris is super welcoming, knowledgeable and motivating which I absolutely loved. To complete a class like that, you need the energy of your trainer to be UP THERE - and that’s exactly what he brought forward. Chris kept pacing around supervising and pushing us all the way through in a way that felt personalised and therefore effective. Equipment is great, class concept fun and engaging which made me keen to try out their other types of classes. I would strongly recommend trying out training at Hybrid Fitness 🤩
Can’t speak highly enough of Chris and Hybrid Fitness. After years of struggling to stay motivated at gyms, Chris’ approach to exercise has been a breath of fresh air. Fantastic classes in which Chris and his team tailor to your ability and constantly keep you motivated to strive to progress at your pace. The whole concept feels so much more relaxed with the extra bonus of PT style tuition. Don’t think twice about going along for a trial, you’ll not look back!
